Paige Bueckers has become a household name since joining the UConn Huskies in 2020. The Minnesota native has dazzled college basketball fans with her skillful playmaking, scoring ability and dominance on the court.

Before her collegiate success, Bueckers was a decorated high school basketball player who left an impressive mark at her alma mater, Hopkins High School in Minnesota. She made her debut in November 2016 scoring 28 points and four assists in a win against Osseo Senior High, a perfect start to her career.

During her sophomore year, Bueckers suffered an ankle injury which left her out of the action for two months. She played 13 games that season averaging 24.4 points and 6.4 rebounds.

She led Hopkins to a 28-4 season but faced her third consecutive defeat in the Class 4A state championship. She was named the Star Tribune Metro Player of the Year. In February 2019, as a junior, Bueckers set a best by scoring 43 points in a victory against Wayzata High School.

During her final season, Paige Bueckers averaged 21.4 points, 9.4 assists and 5.4 rebounds, earning a five-star rating and securing the top player spot in the nation.

Paige Bueckers reflects on injury struggles after high school

UConn star Paige Bueckers is one of the best players in college basketball, but she is certainly not without her flaws. After a stellar high school career, she has suffered multiple serious injuries that have sidelined her for significant time.

"Definitely a mental journey. In high school, I never had really any major injuries, so I kind of thought I was invincible, and I thought it would never be me, but it was, multiple times, unfortunately," Bueckers said on 'A Touch More' podcast. [Time Stamp - 01:00:42]

Bueckers sat out most of her sophomore year due to a knee issue and was sidelined for her junior season because of an ACL tear.
