UConn senior guard Paige Bueckers is known for her rigorous training regimen apart from her magic on the court. She has been practicing and working over the past few days with her trainer Chris Hyppa and UCLA star Kiki Rice.
Bueckers' tremendous success in the college basketball scene can be attributed to her unwavering hard work and dedication. For those Bueckers fans who want to emulate her, Chris Hyppa revealed Bueckers' rigorous training regimen on Tuesday.
Hyppa posted the outlines of Paige Bueckers and Kiki Rice's workout routine on her Instagram story.
Their routine starts with ball stationary drills, which help improve ball handle, control and quick movements. If they make any mistakes, they have to start over. The second drill is '3 Cone Dribbles and Float'. Here, Bueckers and Rice work on change-of-direction dribbling.
Before they start shooting slides, the pair practices timed jumps. They aim to make six shots within a time limit.
The 'Side Shooting' component includes techniques like 1/2 step pull-ups, step-in drags, inverted shots and relocate shooting. And in the end, Bueckers and Rice practice full-court shooting for two-and-a-half minutes, followed by a two-minute drill.
Hyppa posted a picture on Instagram with his two trainees, Bueckers and Rice, posing together.
"Doesn’t get anymore high level than this. Great couple days with my girls Paige, Kiki. Just Work," Hyppa wrote in the caption.
Paige Bueckers picks her WNBA Rookie Of The Year
While most fans are divided between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark for the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year, Paige Bueckers favors her former teammate, Nika Muhl.
Bueckers was in the house for a WNBA matchup between Seattle Storm and Chicago Sky on Sunday to support former Huskie Nika Muhl.
She left a comment on a post featuring Muhl in her pregame outfits, suggesting that the latter should win Rookie of the Year. However, winning ROTY might be tough for the Croatian guard, with players like Reese and Clark having outstanding seasons.
Muhl, drafted 14th overall by Seattle in 2024, played at UConn for four years. She set the program's assist record with 686, was named Big East Defensive Player of the Year twice, and was a two-time second-team All-Big East selection.
In the 2023-24 season, Muhl averaged 6.9 points, 6.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals, helping UConn to reach the NCAA Final Four.
