Jones participated in 16 games as a sophomore before suffering an ACL injury that ended his season. As of February 2025, Jones has not returned.

As a junior and senior, he guided the Lions to consecutive district championships and two visits to the regional final. In addition to being a three-time first-team all-state and two-time all-region selection, Jones was awarded conference MVP in both his junior and senior years. He played for All-Ohio Red on the Nike EYBL circuit.
