Serena Sundell is a college basketball player for the Kansas State Wildcats, where she plays as a guard. As of January 2025, Sundell is a senior for the Wildcats. Sundell attended Maryville High School where she was named the 2021 Miss Show-Me Basketball and was rated number three in Missouri by Prep Girls Hoops. She received three selections to the All-District First Team. During her high school senior year in 2020–21, Sundell averaged 25.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 3.1 steals, and 1.0 blocks.

Sundell enrolled with the Kansas State Wildcats in 2021. As a freshman for the Wildcats, she recorded 350 points, 175 assists, and 100 rebounds or more, making her the only rookie in K-State's history to do so. In the 2022–2023 season, Sundell was the only Wildcat to start every one of the 36 games as a sophomore. Her career-high 501 points included a career-best 157-of-321 field goals. During her junior year, Sundell participated in and started all 34 games and scored 411 points, averaging 12.1 points per game.

Sundell is on the watchlist for the 2024-2025 Jersey Mike's Naismith Women's Player of the Year, and Nancy Lieberman Award Preseason watchlist. In 2024, she was the recipient of the 2024 Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award. Sundell was named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team twice in 2023 and 2024.
