Seton Hall opens the 2024-25 college basketball season determined to make the 2025 NCAA Tournament as a member of the Big East. Last season, the Pirates won the 2024 National Invitation Tournament edging Indiana State, 79-77, in the final.

Third-year coach Shaheen Holloway is back, hoping that he guides his team to another crack at one of the 68 bids for the annual tournament. Here is an inside look into Seton Hall's upcoming campaign from its biggest games to the key players to watch out for this season.

Seton Hall's biggest games of the 2024-25 season

Seton Hall will have a challenging nonconference schedule in the 2024-25 season, with the clash against Oklahoma State in the Big East-Big 12 Battle highlighting the 11-game list.

The Pirates-Cowboys encounter will be held on Dec. 8 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Oklahoma State won its only meeting against Seton Hall in the 2000 East Regional Semifinals in Syracuse, New York.

Also in Seton Hall's schedule are Hofsfra (Nov. 13), defending MAAC champion Wagner (Nov. 16), VCU (Nov. 21), Vanderbilt/Nevada (Nov. 22) and Rutgers (Dec. 14).

The Pirates will play 20 games against their Big East foes in a home and away, double round-robin format.

Top Seton Hall players to watch out for in the 2024-25 season

#1. Chaunce Jenkins

Chaunce Jenkins is coming off a great 2023-24 season with Old Dominion, averaging 15.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. The guard played 31 games for the Monarchs, shooting 40.2% from the field and 72.4% from the free-throw line.

Jenkins would be a marked man for Seton Hall as he's expected to lead the team's offense with his above-average playmaking and shooting.

#2. Zion Harmon

Zion Harmon was a key contributor for Bethune-Cookman in the past two seasons before transferring to Seton Hall. Last year, Harmon played 28 games and averaged 14.6 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 4.0 apg and 1.7 spg.

The guard must be more accurate from the field, as he shot 38.6% in the 2023-24 season. However, he made amends from the free-throw line, making 93.2% of his shots.

#3. Godswill Erheriene

Godswill Erheriene is a four-star high school recruit out of Long Island Lutheran. A talent evaluator from 247 Sports describes the Nigerian giant as playing to his strengths in the low post, helping out on the glass and blocking shots.

Erheriene makes himself available for entry passes and uses his wide body to establish a position in the paint.

Predictions for Seton Hall's 2024-25 season

Seton Hall replenished its roster following the departure of Kadary Richmond, Al-Amir Dawes and Dre Davis. The Pirates hope Chaunce Jenkins and Zion Harmon will fill out the production left off by the trio.

They have a big man in freshman Godswill Erheriene, who is expected to use his wide body to dominate the paint. Seton Hall can win around 15-18 games this season, which could leave them out of the running for postseason tournaments unless the team becomes hot in the final stages of the regular season and wins in the Big East Tournament final for an automatic bid.
