Just because Angel Reese is no longer at LSU does not mean her relationship with head coach Kim Mulkey is entirely gone. While speaking after her WNBA game against the Washington Mystics where she finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and five steals, Angel Reese discussed her relationship with her collegiate coach Kim Mulkey.

"She'll support you no matter what. She's like a mother to me. She calls me still, she checks on me making sure I'm good. Checks in on my family, calls my grandma... I love Coach Mulkey."

Mulkey was one of the people in attendance for the game and the relationship seems to remain strong. Angel Reese played 69 games under Coach Mulkey in her two seasons with the LSU Tigers and won the 2022-23 NCAA Women's Basketball National Championship.

What should we expect out of Kim Mulkey and the LSU Tigers next season?

Kim Mulkey and the LSU Tigers are going to have their hands full next season after losing in the Elite Eight against the Iowa Hawkeyes during the NCAA Tournament. Outside of losing Angel Reese, the team also saw guard Hailey Van Lith transfer to the TCU Horned Frogs, so they are going to be looking to change their program a bit.

Mulkey has been one of the best women's basketball coaches in the country but they are going to have some difficulties with teams like the South Carolina Gamecocks and the USC Trojans, teams with exciting young talent.

One major addition to the program is guard Jada Richard, who committed to the program. With guard Flau'jae Johnson expected to be the leader of the program as a third-year player heading into the 2024-25 college basketball season, the Tigers are going to be a tough team to bet against.

With Mulkey still doing well and keeping the program as competitive as possible, the LSU Tigers are going to be one of the favorites to win the national championship next year and play well in the Southeastern Conference. However, there may be some growing pains early on.
