South Carolina coach Dawn Staley celebrated the Philadelphia Eagles' big win over the New York Giants while welcoming the Halloween spirit in her unique way.

Staley, a diehard Eagles fan, posted on Instagram her way of celebrating Philadelphia's 28-3 win over New York on Sunday afternoon at the MetLife Stadium.

She posted a photo of two Grim Reapers perched atop a house and commented about how the Eagles tormented the Giants a little over a week before Halloween.

Philadelphia's defense was outstanding, recording eight sacks for a loss of 62 yards. Their offense was also on point against the Giants, rushing for 269 yards, compared to New York's 76.

The Eagles won for the fourth time in six games this season to keep their grip on second place in the NFC East. They're half a game behind Washington in the top spot and one game above their archrivals, the Dallas Cowboys.

Dawn Staley's South Carolina devours Memphis in an exhibition game

Dawn Staley actually had a double celebration this week, with South Carolina winning convincingly in a tuneup game against Memphis on Tuesday to start the Gamecocks' 2024-25 women's college basketball season on a solid note.

South Carolina, ranked No. 1 in the AP women's college basketball Preseason Poll, sent a warning to every NCAA team aspiring to dethrone them this season by dominating Memphis from tipoff.

Freshman Joyce Edwards paced the Gamecocks with a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds while Chloe Kitts added a double-double of her own with 15 markers and 13 boards.

Dawn Staley noted that their scrimmages against a male practice team, called the Highlighters, during the preseason helped them become a solid squad approaching the start of the NCAA women's basketball season.

She expressed pride in the team's competitive mood with just a few weeks remaining before the start of the 2024-25 campaign.

"I'm incredibly proud of our team. They're locked in, they are competitive. I think it's going well. We've taken a lot of losses to the Highlighters the first couple of weeks of practice, but I think now they've stepped it up and they've accepted the challenge," Staley said (per The Mirror US).
"Sometimes they let them know about it. It's cool, we are really a tight-knit family," she added.

South Carolina will play their second and last tuneup game against Clayton State on Oct. 28 at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina. They'll formally start their 2024-25 season with a nonconference matchup against Michigan on Nov. 4 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
