American professional basketball player Spencer Jones plays for the National Basketball Association's (NBA) Denver Nuggets and the NBA G League's Grand Rapids Gold on a two-way deal. The Stanford Cardinals were his collegiate basketball team. According to the official website of the Stanford Cardinals, Jones played for Bishop Miege High School in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, where he helped the Stags win three state championships. He led his team in scoring as a senior, averaging 18.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game.

As per ESPN, Jones played collegiate basketball for the Stanford Cardinals, averaging 11.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.0 steals in 28.3 minutes per game in five seasons. He also shot 39.7% from the three-point line and 43.9% from the field. He finished his collegiate career as the school's all-time leader in games played (146) and three-pointers made (315). Spencer was named to the All-Pac-12 second team in 2023.

According to On3, Spencer Jones has an NIL deal with Lifetime Cardinal. However, the amount involved in the deal isn’t available. According to the official website of the Lifetime Cardinal, alumni supporters of Stanford University and Stanford Athletics created Lifetime Cardinal. It is a stand-alone NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) organization that provides programs to assist Stanford student-athletes, both during and after their time at Stanford, and raises funds for NIL services.

For the 2023–24 season, Lifetime Cardinal signed contracts with more than 130 student-athletes from Stanford's men's basketball, women's basketball, and football teams. The organization is also involved in helping athletes from other teams using specific funding sources.
