He was the Pennsylvania Gatorade Boys Basketball Player of the Year and Mr. PA Basketball in the 2020-2021 season. Mitchell won the Berks Player of the Year twice and led the league in scoring in his final two seasons. He also guided the team to back-to-back league championships. Mitchell finished his high school career with 2,060 points, ranking him fourth in the league’s history. During his senior season, he averaged 25.6 points per game, the highest mark in 20 years. As a junior, he earned a spot in the all-state first-team, leading Wilson to its first-ever district championship while averaging 22.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.6 steals per game. He earned a selection in the all-league and all-county teams during his sophomore year, for averaging 20.6 points per game. He also played AAU Circuit for Philly Pride, where he helped the team win the national championship in 2019, and was also named the MVP.
