He posted double digits in 26 games, with Iowa State winning 22. He compiled five or more assists in 20 games that helped the team achieve an overall 18-2 record. Defensively, Lipsey made eight steals against Prairie View and finished the season with 96 steals, the second most in Iowa’s history in a single season.

Tamin Lipsey had a remarkable high school career at Ames High School. He was the Iowa Mr. Basketball and Gatorade Player of the Year during his senior season. Lipsey led the team to the 2022 Iowa State Championship, where he posted a triple-double performance, scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists in the championship game against Johnston. Throughout his high school career, Lipsey averaged 16.3 points, 5.3 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game with a shot accuracy of 53.4% from the field. In 2019, he won a gold medal for the US National Basketball team at the FIBA Americas U16 Championship, averaging 6.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.7 steals. Lipsey was rated a three-star prospect and was ranked as the 186th overall player and the No. 30th point guard by 247Sports. He committed to Iowa State University over Nebraska and Minnesota.
