Taryn Sides plays college basketball at Kansas State Wildcats women's basketball in the Big Twelve Conference. Taryn Sides is in her sophomore season and plays as a guard. She joined the Kansas State Wildcats in 2023 and is in her second season with the Kansas State Wildcats. According to the Kansas State Wildcats website, Sides made her collegiate debut as a substitute against Presbyterian and played 34 games during her rookie year. Because of her performances, she made it to the 2023–24 Big 12 Academic All-Rookie Team.

Sides attended Phillipsburg High School and was ranked the 64th-best player in the country by Blue Star Basketball. According to the Kansas State Wildcats ' official website, she has been a four-time Kansas Basketball Coaches Association (KBCA) All-State honoree and was nominated for the 2023 McDonald's All-American team. Sides was integral in Phillipsburg's third-place finish at the 2023 Kansas 3A State Tournament. Sides is a record holder in terms of scoring 3-pointers for the school.
