The Texas A&M Aggies women’s basketball team competes in the Southeastern Conference and made their first appearance in the 1974-75 season. The Aggies were the National Champions in 2021.

Joni Taylor has entered her third year with the Texas A&M women’s basketball program in 2024. She succeeded Hall of Famer Gary Blair in the summer of 2022.

Before her arrival at Texas A&M, Taylor spent seven years at Georgia as the head coach and spearheaded the Lady Bulldogs to four NCAA tournament appearances. She was honored with the SEC Coach of the Year in 2021.

Associate Head Coach

Chelsea Newton joined Taylor’s coaching staff in 2022 as an associate head coach and spent the last seven years as an assistant at Georgia with Taylor. Newton is a 14-year coaching veteran who also made a stop at Rutgers working under the legendary C. Vivian Stringer.

Assistant Coaches

Robert Mosley and Rodney Hill are the two assistant coaches of the Texas A&M women’s basketball team. Mosley joined the program in the summer of 2022 and spent the last seven years as an assistant at Georgia under Joni Taylor.

Rodney Hill was added to Joni Taylor’s coaching staff in 2023. He came to Texas A&M after spending the 2022-23 season with TCU as an assistant coach.
