A cross-conference matchup between the Big East's No. 9 Creighton Bluejays and the Southeastern division's No. 15 Texas A&M Aggies is slated for Wednesday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. With identical 4-3 records in the young 2024-2025 college basketball season, the two teams will duke it out for the second day of the Players Era Festival 2024 - Power Tournament.

Both teams are coming off hard losses on the first day of the tournament on Tuesday. The Bluejays were outlasted by the San Diego State Aztecs, 71-53, while the Aggies were pulled away by the Oregon Ducks, 80-70.

As both squads aim to add to their win column, let's take a peek into the odds and predictions for this tightly contested matchup.

Texas A&M vs. Creighton prediction

The two teams are in dangerous territory to walk out of the Power Tournament with a loss and receive an overall .500 record on the season thus far.

Team basketball is emulated in both the Aggies and the Bluejays as the two opponents combine to have six players averaging double figures on the season and an extra two posting up nine points per contest.

Fifth-year center Ryan Kalkbrenner will look to bring his A-game down low as he is tallying a near double-double of 19.7 points and 8.3 rebounds on an efficient 78% clip to go with 2.7 blocks. Following him up on the Creighton team is Steven Ashworth, who is not confirmed to play, bringing in 16.0 points and 6.4 assists per game.

For the Aggies, the duo of Zhuric Phillips and Wade Taylor IV control the team's pace as their play on the perimeter contributes to 16.8 and 14.2 points, respectively, a game. Forward Henry Coleman III is their main presence in the paint, as he averages 6.7 boards for the season.

While Texas A&M and Creighton balance each other out in terms of both offense and defense, it'll ultimately lead to whether or not Ashworth is playing. Being the Bluejays' main facilitator, his absence may create an unfillable void that the Aggies can take advantage of en route to picking up the dub.
