LSU guard Flau'jae Johnson reviewed her best outfits worn during the year in the "Best of Both Worlds with Flau'jae" podcast, which was posted on YouTube on Dec. 20.
One of the topics Johnson discussed was the best outfits she wore during her performances on stage and off the court, while watching a game her team wasn't playing.
The 5-foot-10 Lady Tigers shooting guard, who is signed as a recording artist for Roc Nation, recalled an outfit she wore during the ESPYs held on July 11 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
Johnson performed "Came Out A Beast" in that event and she wore a metallic purple top and pants. She almost had to ditch the outfit when the top broke.
"I love this outfit," Johnson recalled. "I performed it (the dress) for the ESPYs. I feel like it went with the whole flow. Fun fact, that top broke. I couldn't breathe in. That top broke right before the show, like it was crazy and Carja had to sew it up with a hair thread and needle," Johnson said (50:20-onwards).
Flau'jae Johnson still wore the outfit and continued with her performance. Various professional sports stars, including NBA great and three-time champion Dwyane Wade and former NFL player and Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III, hailed her effort on social media.
"You bodied this! @Flaujae 🔥🔥🔥," Wade wrote on X.
Flau'jae Johnson and Last-Tear Poa reveal which SEC teams they are excited to play against this season
During the podcast, Flau'jae Johnson and LSU teammate Last-Tear Poa discussed the upcoming SEC regular season and the teams they are itching to play against.
Johnson said she looks forward to facing Texas as they are one of the newest teams in the conference due to the realignment. They also mentioned the defending champion South Carolina, Tennessee and new SEC member Oklahoma.
The shooting guard also recalled being recruited by the Longhorns and had an official visit before committing to LSU. Johnson believes the upcoming SEC games won't be easy.
"This is not going to be a cakewalk. We're going to get SEC's best defense and we're scouted to the max," Johnson said (18:03).
The No. 6-ranked LSU (14-0) will have one more non-conference game against Albany on Sunday afternoon at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. This is before facing their first SEC opponent in Arkansas (6-8) on Jan. 2.
They will play No. 15 Tennessee (11-0) twice, on Jan. 9 and Feb. 9; No. 2 South Carolina (12-1) on Jan. 23, Oklahoma (11-1) on Jan. 30 and No. 5 Texas (12-1) on Feb. 16. The Lady Tigers will conclude the regular season against Ole Miss on Mar. 2.
