The UConn Huskies and the USC Trojans faced off in a sure-fire cross-conference matchup at the XL Center on Saturday. Eventually, JuJu Watkins, Kiki Iriafen and the rest of the Trojans knocked the Huskies off their homefloor 72-70 — holding off UConn's second half rally in the process.

But, amid all of the action that ensued, the UConn Huskies social media team committed a baffling error. In a now deleted post on X, they uploaded a graphic that had the wrong scores on it. The first quarter and half time scores of the hotly-contested fixture were reversed, drawing bemused reactions from online fans.

With this, several fans and spectators who were staying tuned to the hyped-up game called them out.

"This is embarassing," one user said.
"Y'ALL ARE LYING," another exclaimed.
"Y’all wish this was the score," another user posted.
"About to turn this game off my God." a user wrote.

Overall, it was yet another classic from two storied programs and with USC extracting revenge on UConn, mixed reactions have been garnered from fans.

"UConn's ceiling is the Final Four. I'm sorry," a user shared.
"Why play Fudd tonight for her to go for a few minutes then sit?! Just don't play her," one fan expressed.
"'Fuck it. I'll just do it myself,' - Geno Auriemma (probably)" another captioned along with a meme of the 11-time national champion coach.

In the end, coach Lindsay Gottlieb was able to come up with a gameplan to give USC their 11th triumph of the campaign. Watkins earned the player of the game honors with 25 points, six rebounds and five assists while Iriafen poured in 16 points, 11 rebounds and six assists.

UConn saw their record fall to 10-2 despite Bueckers posting 22 points, three rebounds and two assists.

Lindsay Gottlieb says the UConn win is tremendously significant

During the post-game presser, coach Gottlieb was in gratitude for the amount of spectators who watched their game versus UConn and even the several members of the media who were present to cover it. She called it a major win for their side, especially with championship aspirations in mind.

"This is a really significant win because of the stature of UConn's program and what Geno Auriemma has done for our sport. I told them (my players) in there, 'For my entire high school and on, this is what basketball excellence was.' This is what we saw and it's challenged all of us to want to be better," Gottlieb shared. (0:40)

USC's next game will be against the Michigan Wolverines next Sunday, Dec. 29, while the Huskies face the Providence Friars on the same day.
