College basketball fans reacted to the excellent performance of UCLA center Lauren Betts in the Bruins' 82-67 victory over Maryland on Sunday at the XFINITY Center in College Park. Betts was almost flawless from the paint, scoring a career-high 33 points on 14-of-15 shooting from the field and 5-of-6 from the foul line.

The 6-foot-7 center also tallied seven rebounds, four assists, one steal and four blocks in 35 minutes for the No. 1-ranked Bruins (20-0, 8-0 in Big Ten), who are likely to maintain their position in the AP weekly poll for women's college basketball.

Fans couldn't hide their admiration for the junior superstar who recorded at least 20 points, seven rebounds and four blocks for the fourth consecutive game. Betts' near-perfect performance against a Top-10 team like Maryland (16-4, 6-3) led one fan to declare that she is not a normal basketball player.

"This is not normal bruh😭😭😭," the fan wrote on X.
"That looked way toooo easy for her," another fan added.
"She is a monster," a hoops enthusiast pointed out.

Other social media users boldly declared Betts as the top player in the country this season and a generational talent.

"Best player in the country," he said.
"Generational talent!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥," a user pointed out.

Betts' performance against Maryland has basketball enthusiasts considering her the top contender for the major postseason women's college basketball awards.

"Lauren Betts is National Player of the Year," a college hoops fan declared.
"Npoy," another fan said.
"Now put her in the convo! Hannah Lauren Latson Juju Paige," said another.
"NPOY!! No one does it like she does on both ends of the floor!!!," a fan claimed.

Lauren Betts played one season for the Stanford Cardinal in 2022-23 before transferring to UCLA where she fully blossomed as a center. In 18 games this season, she is averaging 21.0 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.0 blocks per game.

California-based teams UCLA, USC dominate Big Ten Conference

Big Ten newcomers UCLA and USC are dominating conference play with 8-0 records and could battle it out for the regular season title if they maintain their dominance. UCLA has secured victories over Washington, Nebraska, Michigan, Indiana, Purdue, Penn State, Rutgers and Maryland to keep their unbeaten streak alive.

The Bruins have also racked up wins over defending champion South Carolina, Baylor, Louisville and Creighton in non-conference play, earning the votes of AP college basketball scribes.

Meanwhile, the No. 4-ranked Trojans, led by JuJu Watkins, have recorded victories over Oregon, Michigan, Nebraska, Rutgers, Maryland, Penn State, Indiana and Purdue, continuing their ascent to the top of the Big Ten Conference. Solid wins over Ole Miss and UConn have provided USC with momentum going into conference play.

This upcoming game on Feb. 13 at the Galen Center promises to be a blockbuster clash as both teams vie for supremacy in the Big Ten Conference. They will face off again on Mar. 1 at the Pauley Pavilion to conclude their conference regular season.

Before these matchups, they must overcome their upcoming assignments to build anticipation for this high-stakes rivalry game. USC faces Minnesota (18-3, 6-3) on Jan. 30 at the Galen Center, while UCLA meets the same team on Feb. 2 at the Pauley Pavilion.
