Predicting the best high school players in the class of 2026 might take a crystal ball. After all, we're talking about players with two years left in their high school careers. Fortunately, there are recruiting experts who take a crack at the task. 247sports.com not only has the 2026 class ranked, but has also ranked the 2027 class. Here is the top ten prospects from the 2026 class on their ranking list.
Top 10 college basketball recruits in the class of 2026
#10 Ikenna Alozie, G
Alozie is a 6-foot-3 combo guard who hails from New Jersey. The top-ranked combo guard in the class, he plays at Dream City Christian in Glendale, Arizona. 247sports indicated that Alozie has at least 18 scholarship offers already, including Kansas, Villanova and UCLA.
#9 Caleb Gaskins, PF
Gaskins is a 6-foot-7 forward from Florida who plays at highly regarded Montverde Academy. He's the third-ranked power forward in his class. Gaskins can claim at least eight scholarship offers, including Alabama and Baylor.
#8 Jordan Smith, G
A 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Fairfax, Virginia, Smith is 247's No. 2 ranked shooting guard in the 2026 class. At least 14 schools have offered Smith a scholarhip per 247sports. Among the heavyweights of the group are Houston and Villanova.
#7 Moustapha Diop, PF
A skinny 6-foot-10 forward from Marietta, Georgia, Diop is the second-best power forward in his class, per 247. The homestate Bulldogs are one of five teams that has extended a scholarship offer to Diop.
#6 Tajh Ariza, SF
The lanky Ariza (6-foot-8, 180 pounds), whose father Trevor played in the NBA, hails from Los Angeles and is apparently switching schools within the state. The second-best small forward in the class (but just the No. 5 player in California), Ariza has drawn scholarship offers from seven schools, including Arkansas, Kansas and several West Coast teams.
#5 Jason Crowe, Jr., G
A diminutive 6-foot-2 point guard from Lynwood, California, Crowe is the second-best point guard in his recruiting class, per 247. At least three Division I schools have already offered scholarships to Crowe, including UCLA.
#4 Alijah Arenas, G
The son of longtime NBA star Gilbert Arenas, Alijah is the top-ranked shooting guard in the nation. A product of Chatsworth High in California, the 6-foot-4 Arenas already has scholarship offers from 17 Divivison I schools including Alabama, Arizona, Kansas and UCLA. He's an impressive scorer and a chip off the familial old block.
#3 Caleb Holt, SF
The nation's top small forward prospect hails from New Market, Alabama and plays at nearby Buckhorn High. A 6-foot-5 athlete, Holt has at least 14 scholarship offers from Division I schools. Alabama and Houston are among the teams actively recruiting Holt.
#2 Brandon McCoy, G
McCoy is the nation's top-ranked point guard recruit. The California product plays at highly regarded St. John Bosco High. 247sports reports that McCoy has 17 scholarship offers. Some of the schools seeking him include Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas and Tennessee.
#1 Tyran Stokes, PF
The 6-foot-7 forward is the top player in the class. Stokes is originally from Louisville, Kentucky, but plays for Prolific Prep in California, where he teams with 2025 top recruit AJ Dybantsa. Kansas and Kentucky are just two of the many schools recruiting Stokes and it'll be interesting to see if his Kentucky roots come into play.
