3 SEC players to keep an eye out for in Round 2 of 2024 NBA draft
#1. Justin Edwards
Justin Edwards enters the NBA draft following an impressive freshman year with the Kentucky Wildcats. In his lone season with the team, the forward averaged 8.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game across 32 appearances.
Edwards is tipped to go early in the second round since he's shown a lot of potential. There are also suggestions that the Toronto Raptors could select him with the 31st pick.
#2. Antonio Reeves
Antonio Reeves played three seasons with Illinois State before transferring to Kentucky to play for two seasons. He finished his college career averaging 15.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
Reeves has shown improvement in his game over the past few seasons, and the player has a high ceiling. Many analysts believe that the player could go as a late pick in the second round on Thursday.
#3. Will Richards
Will Richards declared for the NBA draft after two seasons with the Florida Gators. He previously played one year with the Belmont Bruins before transferring to Florida. Across three years of college basketball, the guard averaged 11.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
Richards has an excellent scoring ability from behind the arc. He converts 35.4% of his 3-pointers. He scored a career-high 70 3s in 2024 with the Gators, which might draw attention from several NBA teams later in the second round.
