Just like other major conferences, the ACC also welcomed a group of newcomers this offseason. It did not get heavy hitters like USC, UCLA or Arizona. But Stanford, California Bears and SMU come in to bring reputed basketball through their programs.
Nevertheless, their impact makes for an increased level of basketball, more opponents throughout the conference tourney, heightened competition for landing new recruits and much more.
Here's a closer look at the top five women's college basketball freshmen ready to play in the AAC in the 2024-25 season.
Top 5 ACC women's basketball freshmen in 2024-25 season

Jones is a five-star recruit and one of the best point guards in the 2024 class. The North Pitt High School product comes to the ACC after rejecting offers from Alabama, Florida State, Mississippi State and Georgia.
Jones won the NC Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Year last season and has been recognized as an HSOT All-State selection multiple times in her high school career.
#4. Arianna Roberson – Duke
Roberson is a five-star forward from San Antonio. At 6-foot-4, she brings length and versatility to the 2024-25 roster and should help the Blue Devils make up for Kennedy Brown and Camilla Emsbo’s absences.
A product of Clark High School, Arianna Roberson had basketball ingrained in her family. Her brother, Andre Roberson, is a former NBA player while her father played at New Mexico State.
#3. Imari Berry – Louisville Cardinals
Berry is the top recruit in the Cardinals’ four top-100 ranked freshmen this season. The 5-foot-10 point guard is ranked No. 19 on ESPN’s list and is the top-ranked prospect out of Tennessee.
