Tre Mitchell is an American basketball power forward who is currently playing his trade with the Löwen Braunschweig in the Basketball Bundesliga in Germany. The four-star athlete started playing basketball at Elizabeth Forward High School during his freshman and sophomore years. He then transferred to Woodstock Academy to play his junior and senior years where he was honored with the Connecticut Gatorade Player of the Year in 2019. In his senior year, he led the Centaurs to a 39-2 record and averaged 16.6 points, 13.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.6 blocks per game.
The 6ft 9inch, 220-pound embarked on his collegiate basketball journey at UMass where he spent his first two years of college basketball. He then transferred to Texas Longhorns during his junior year where he averaged 8.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game and tallied double figures in nine games. But after just one season with the program, he entered the transfer portal for the second time and committed to West Virginia for his senior year. In the 2022-23 season, Mitchell started 32 of 34 games and averaged 11.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. The talented forward once again entered the transfer portal for his final season of college basketball and transferred to Kentucky in the 2023-24 season before announcing himself for the 2024 NBA Draft.
