Tre Mitchell is an American basketball power forward who found a new home in the professional ranks this summer. The former Kentucky Wildcats forward signed with Löwen Braunschweig, a team in the Basketball Bundesliga which is the top tier of German professional basketball. Mitchell went undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft and participated in the NBA Summer League with the Oklahoma City Thunders.
His journey from collegiate to professional basketball stardom began at UMass where he recorded 792 points, and 315 rebounds in two seasons with the program. Mitchell then transferred to Texas where he averaged 8.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game in his lone season with the program in 2021. He also had a brief stint with the West Virginia basketball program. Before announcing himself for the 2024 NBA Draft, Mitchell spent one season at Kentucky Wildcats under John Calipari Mitchell and appeared in 27 games for the program. Mitchell tallied a team-high 7.2 rebounds to go along with 10.7 points and 2.6 assists in 30.2 minutes per game.
