Tyler Kolek is an American professional basketball player at the point guard position for the New York Knicks. He was drafted in the 2024 NBA Draft as the 34th overall pick by the Portland Trail Blazers. He was traded to the New York Knicks subsequently in exchange for the draft rights of Dani Díez and round two picks in 2027, 2029 and 2030. It was July 2024 when he signed with the Knicks officially.

In his NBA career, Kolek has played 41 games, with 7.2 minutes per game. He averages 2 points, 0.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.3 steals, and 0.1 blocks per game. Simultaneously, he has also played for the New York Knicks' NBA G League team, the Westchester Knicks. Tyler Kolek commenced his college basketball journey at George Mason University. Kolek decided to transfer to Marquette University. Upon joining Marquette, Kolek's first season with the Golden Eagles saw him lead the Big East Conference with 5.9 assists per game. During his junior year, he received awards like the Big East Player of the Year and secured a position in the All-Big East first team.

Kolek's display in the 2023 Big East tournament earned recognition from prestigious awards such as the Naismith Trophy Semifinalist and the Bob Cousy Award Finalist. He was named to multiple preseason All-American teams, earning the preseason Big East Player of the Year title, and being listed in various award watchlists (according to Marquette's official website).
