American college basketball player Tyrese Hunter is a guard for the Memphis Tigers, a team that plays in NCAA Division I. He is in his senior year as of March 2025. Hunger spent his freshman year with Iowa State in the 2021-22 season where he started all 35 games. Some of his accolades that season were being named the Big 12 Freshman of the Year, and a finalist for the Kyle Macy Award and Lefty Driesell Award. His name was also enlisted in the Big 12 All-Freshman Team, as per his college roster.

As a sophomore at Texas in the 2022-23 season, Hunger again started all 38 games. The following season as a junior at Texas, Hunter again appeared in all 33 games as a starter and averaged 32.1 minutes per game, which was the second-most on the Longhorns. He registered a career high 30 points in the regular season against Oklahoma along with three steals recorded. For Iowa State, he has started all 73 games in two seasons he spent with the program and Texas. He has also registered double figures in scoring 40 times.
