Tyrese Proctor plays collegiate basketball for the Duke Blue Devils men's basketball team in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Proctor is in his junior year and plays as a guard. He started his career with the Blue Devils in 2022. According to Duke Blue Devils' official website, Proctor received ACC All-Freshman Team selection and was one of four Blue Devils to play in all 36 games as a freshman. Proctor, along with senior Jeremy Roach and graduate student Ryan Young, was chosen as one of the three team captains for the 2023–24 campaign.

Only the fourth captain in Duke basketball history to be a sophomore. He was mentioned as an All-ACC Academic. He made the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Top 20 Preseason Watch List as a junior. Initially committed to Duke for the 2023 class, Proctor was regarded as a five-star guard. He did, however, declare in June 2022 that he would reclassify to play for the Blue Devils in 2022–2023. Proctor led the New South Wales Metro Under-18 team to fourth place at the 2018 U-18 Championships and was a standout player at the 2021 Australian Under-20 Championships. Proctor rejected offers from Tennessee, Arizona State, Oklahoma, and Arizona in favor of Duke.
