The University of California, Los Angeles, is represented in men's basketball by the UCLA Bruins program. It was founded in 1919 and has won a record 11 NCAA championships. From 1964 to 1975, coach John Wooden guided the Bruins to ten national titles in twelve seasons, including seven in a row from 1967 to 1973.
A record four times, UCLA went undefeated: 1964, 1967, 1972, and 1973. 1995 saw Coach Jim Harrick lead the team to yet another NCAA championship. From 2006 to 2008, former coach Ben Howland guided UCLA to three straight Final Four appearances.
Between 1967 and 1979, when UCLA was a part of the AAWU, Pacific-8, and eventually Pacific-10, the school achieved an NCAA Division I record with 13 straight regular-season conference titles. That record remained until Kansas tied it in 2017. UCLA is set to join the Big Ten Conference in 2024.

Born on July 17, 1971, Michael Walter Cronin is the head coach of the Pac-12 Conference's UCLA Bruins. During his rookie campaign with the Bruins in 2019–20, Cronin won the Pac-12 Coach of the Year award. His team made it to the Final Four the next year.
Prior to joining UCLA, Cronin led the Cincinnati Bearcats as their head coach for 13 seasons. He led the Bearcats' program to nine consecutive NCAA tournament appearances (through 2018–19), earning him the title of American Athletic Conference (AAC) coach of the year in 2014. He was the coach of the Murray State Racers from 2003 to 2006 before coming to Cincinnati.

Associate Head Coach
In 2024-25, Darren Savino will begin his seventh season as UCLA's associate head coach. He has played a significant part in the growth of the UCLA Bruins' frontcourt players and has helped the team amass a 115-53 record over the last five seasons.
Savino spent the nine seasons prior to coming to Westwood as a member of the University of Cincinnati coaching staff. He will be collaborating with head coach Mick Cronin for the 16th time in the 2023–24 campaign. Savino has collaborated with Coach Cronin for two years at Murray State (2005–06), nine seasons at Cincinnati (2011–19), and four years at UCLA (2019–23).
Assistant Coaches
Rod Palmer will begin his sixth year as UCLA's assistant coach. After coaching at Long Beach State and San Diego State for the past 12 seasons, he joined the Bruins program in May 2019. For the past thirty years, he has been a high school and collegiate coach in Southern California.
Over his five years at UCLA, Palmer has been crucial to the Bruins' 99-36 overall record. In 2021, the Bruins made appearances in the NCAA Final Four and went to the Sweet 16 in 2022 and 2023. UCLA won the Pac-12 title in 2023, its first regular-season league championship since 2013.
Nate Georgeton will begin his second season as an assistant coach for the UCLA men's basketball team. Georgeton became an assistant coach in August 2023 after joining the UCLA men's basketball team in the summer of 2019.
In 2024-25, Brendyn Taylor will begin his second season as an assistant coach for the UCLA men's basketball team. He will help the Bruins program in a variety of ways, most notably in player development.
In August 2023, Nemanja Jovanovic became an assistant coach and the Director of International Recruiting for the Boston Bruins. Jovanovic, known as Yogi, will help UCLA's team with international recruiting, scouting, and player development.
