The University of California, Los Angeles, is represented in men's basketball by the UCLA Bruins program. It was founded in 1919 and has won a record 11 NCAA championships. From 1964 to 1975, coach John Wooden guided the Bruins to ten national titles in twelve seasons, including seven in a row from 1967 to 1973.

A record four times, UCLA went undefeated: 1964, 1967, 1972, and 1973. 1995 saw Coach Jim Harrick lead the team to yet another NCAA championship. From 2006 to 2008, former coach Ben Howland guided UCLA to three straight Final Four appearances.

Between 1967 and 1979, when UCLA was a part of the AAWU, Pacific-8, and eventually Pacific-10, the school achieved an NCAA Division I record with 13 straight regular-season conference titles. That record remained until Kansas tied it in 2017. UCLA is set to join the Big Ten Conference in 2024.
