The USC Trojans compete in the NCAA Division I Pac-12 Conference; they have an all-time record of 1,500–1,097 in collegiate basketball games. In 2013, Andy Enfield joined the USC Trojans as head coach, following two seasons at Florida Gulf Coast. Most notably, five postseason appearances for USC have been achieved under Enfield: four in the NCAA Tournament (2016, 2017, 2021, and 2022) and one in the 2018 NIT.
Enfield's rise to national prominence as Florida Gulf Coast's head coach coincided with the team's unexpected run to the Sweet 16 round of the 2013 NCAA tournament as a No. 15 seed. Associate Head Coach
On August 30, 2021, head coach Andy Enfield promoted assistant coach Chris Capko to associate head coach of the USC men's basketball program. Chris Capko has been an assistant coach since April 22, 2016.
Capko has been an excellent fit for Enfield's staff of talented coaches, who are building a solid program foundation through recruiting. He was one of three college assistants invited by AthleticDirectorU to participate in a feature broadcast in 2019 to talk about the challenging issues regarding basketball.
Capko was one of a few chosen people invited to the NCAA Champion Forum in 2023 to learn leadership skills and the essentials of becoming an effective head coach. The Athletic listed Capko as one of the 21 assistant coaches in college basketball to watch in December 2023.
Assistant Coaches
Head coach Andy Enfield appointed 55-year-old Eric Mobley to the role of assistant men's basketball coach in March 2018, and he is currently in his sixth season at USC. Before joining USC, he spent 11 years coaching different AAU programs. Three of those years were spent as the coach of the AAU Compton Magic 16-and-Under team, which he led before joining the Trojans.
In August 2021, Andy Enfield named Jay Morris an assistant coach for the USC men's basketball team. In his three seasons with the Trojans, he has contributed to USC's 48-19 record.
Morris played three seasons at San Diego State, helping the team to several noteworthy victories, including a 26-0 start in 2019–20. During the 2017–18 season, he served as San Jose State's assistant coach, concentrating on defense.
Dermon Farmer initially joined the USC program as Director of Scouting and after working for two seasons, he was finally promoted to assistant coach. This will be his fourth season in his current role. Over the course of the previous nine years, Farmer had led professionals and student-athletes to numerous titles and more than 20 college scholarships.
Assistant coach Kurt Karis is currently in his sixth season with the USC men's basketball team. He worked as the USC men's basketball program's graduate assistant for two seasons before taking on the role of director of scouting for the preceding three.
