USC Basketball Recruiting: 3 high school prospects Eric Musselman could target ft. Caleb Wilson 

When head coach Eric Musselman came to USC Trojans from Arkansas this off-season, he was handed a framework of the men’s basketball team to build on. With only one returning scholarship player from the previous season’s roster, Musselman hit the recruitment panel hard. Apart from Harrison Hornery, every promising player either ran out of eligibility, entered the transfer portal or was chasing the big league.

Nevertheless, Musselman got 11 new players through the portal and a few high school pass outs. However, seven of those players will conclude their college eligibility at the end of the season.

Here's a closer look at the potential recruits USC could get once they finish their first season in the new Big Ten Conference.

Top high school prospects USC's Eric Musselman could target

#1. Tounde Yessoufou

Tounde Yessoufou is a 6-foot-5, five-star prospect who likes to use his size and power to cruise past defenders. The small forward loves to bully through the lane and use his athleticism to gain an advantage over other players. The Santa Maria (California) St. Joseph player averaged nearly 16.0 points in Nike’s EYBL circuit and likes to build his game off Jimmy Butler and Anthony Edwards from the NBA.

Despite USC not aggressively pursuing fresh talent this time around, they have already presented an offer to Yessoufou. He also has invitations from Kansas, UCLA and Arizona.

#2. Ifaola 'Tacko' Fawaz

The 6-foot-11 prospect brings impactful size and strength to the court. Even though there were initial concerns about his speed and understanding of the game, Fawaz has learned to make his presence known on both ends of the floor.

Originally from Nigeria, he is currently suiting up for Dream City Christians and showing signs of improvement in terms of game mechanics, skills and post moves. While USC made Fawaz an offer in October 2023, he has also been reached by Oklahoma State, Providence, St. John’s and Seton Hall.

#3. Caleb Wilson

Caleb Wilson was born with the necessary tools to become a versatile modern-day forward. The 6-foot-9 youngster can utilize his length, good instincts, springy athleticism and quickness. Moreover, not only does he display a soft touch on his shots, but the five-star prospect can also utilize his left hand efficiently as well. Defensively, he can guard multiple positions, has active hands and can time his blocks.

Caleb Wilson is expected to increase the clip on his shooting form in the near future as he already has a few on-ball moves to get to his hot spots. He is on USC’s watchlist and has offers from 20 other programs including Kentucky, North Carolina, Alabama and Duke.
