The Wake Forest Demon Deacons is the men's basketball team representing Wake Forest University in the NCAA Division. They compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The team has made 23 NCAA Tournament appearances and qualified for the Final Four in 1962. Their most recent appearance was in 2017. The Demon Deacons won the Conference tournament five times in 1953, 1961, 1962, 1995, and 1996, and also the Conference regular season championship five times in 1939, 1960, 1962, 1995, and 2003. Steve Forbes is the head coach of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons for the 2024–2025 season. Forbes coached East Tennessee State from 2015 to 2020 before joining Wake Forest in 2020. He gained experience as an assistant coach at Idaho, Louisiana Tech, Illinois State, Texas A&M, Tennessee, and Wichita State and became the head coach for Northwest Florida State in 2013. Throughout his career, he won two SoCon regular season Championships in 2017 and 2020 and two SoCon tournaments in 2017 and 2020. As an individual recognition, he won the Hugh Durham Award in 2020, the SoCon Coach of the Year in 2020, and the ACC Coach of the Year in 2022.
