Top freshman Cooper Flagg finally made his much-awaited college basketball debut for Duke in an exhibition game against Lincoln at the Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday.
The 6-foot-9 Montverde Academy product provided a glimpse of what he's capable of on both sides of the floor, scoring the first two points on a turnaround jumper and then skying high for a pair of blocked shots in less than three minutes.
Cooper Flagg's block party set the tone for Duke, who stormed to a 56-34 lead in the first half before burying Lincoln further in the second half for a 107-56 victory. He finished the game with four rejections, showing the Blue Devils faithful who watched the game in the Cameron Indoor Stadium that his defensive prowess is for real.
Aside from his defensive masterclass, Flagg came up with 22 points on 8-for-16 shooting from the field, including 2-for-5 from the 3-point range. He added two rebounds and six assists in 24 minutes of action.
After the game, the top freshman prospect spoke about the feeling of playing his first college basketball game against a real opponent.
"It was incredibly special. It's something I've dreamed about since I was young, playing college basketball, and I dreamed about playing at Duke as well. So just getting that experience, the first time playing against a real opponent, it was kind of surreal," he said (per GoDuke.com)
Cooper Flagg added the game against Lincoln was a great opportunity for him and his teammates to perform in front of fans and show what they've been practicing during the offseason.

Seven-foot-one Khaman Maluach was a steady presence in the interior for Duke, posting 11 rebounds and two blocks, along with four points. Freshman Isaiah Evans produced nine points, while freshman Darren Harris and sophomore Caleb Foster had eight points each.
The Blue Devils dominated the rebounding battle, hauling 47 boards compared to the Lions' 31. They forced 18 turnovers with 12 steals, scoring 36 points off them. Duke dished off 25 assists while only committing eight turnovers.
Duke coach Jon Scheyer was impressed with the team's quickness during the exhibition game but admitted his players will need to work on several aspects of the game to become the best team in the nation this season.
Up next for the Blue Devils is another tuneup game against Arizona State on Oct. 27. The Sun Devils are coached by former Duke guard Bobby Hurley.
