LSU women's basketball coach Kim Mulkey was caught on camera making a gesture in response to an interviewer, Ashley Roberts, who is a Texas Longhorns fan. During an interview at Nike Nationals, Mulkey raised her hand and formed an "L" sign towards the camera after Roberts made a "horn" sign in support of the Longhorns.

A video shared by @itsjustdifferentpod on Instagram last Friday featured the four-time NCAA champion coach being interviewed by former basketball player Roberts.

"Before we get started I just gotta do this. I'm sorry," host Roberts said making a horn sign gesture to express his support for the Texas Longhorns.
"Are you a hook 'em horn? Are you really? Well I gotta do this, I'm LSU," Coach Mulkey responded with an "L" sign hand gesture.

In the interview, Roberts asked Mulkey what advice she would, as a coach, give to parents guiding their kids through a basketball journey.

"I did have two kids play Division I athletics. Coach my daughter my son played at LSU baseball. I would say to them enjoy the heck out of children. Be a great cheerleader, but don't embarrass them. Remember that these are memories you're making with your children," Mulkey said.

Texas Longhorns joined the Southeastern Conference (SEC) for the upcoming season. This means they will at least face Kim Mulkey's LSU once in the regular season.

Mulkey has a long history with the Longhorns from her time at Baylor, where the two teams faced each other several times in the Big 12.

LSU players prank Kim Mulkey during the teams' Europe vacation

The LSU women's basketball team and coach Kim Mulkey were on a trip to Europe relishing their off-time before the new season starts.

While enjoying their boat rides, four Tiger players: Aneesah Morrow, Shy Day-Wilson, Flau'Jae Johnson and Amani Bartlett decided to play a prank on Mulkey.

Overtime posted a video on Instagram showing the athletes following the TikTok trend "Just Give Me My Money," Morrow, Shy Day-Wilson, Johnson and Bartlett each took a turn saying the catchphrase, which was met with cheers from the rest of the group.

However, when it was Mulkey's turn, the group remained silent after she excitedly said:

"Just Give Me My Money."

When Mulkey found out she was the target of the prank, she reacted quickly and drifted away but was smiling the whole time.

After falling short of defending their national championship last season, the Tigers are heading into the 2024-25 season with aspirations of winning another title.
