The Duke Blue Devils are in the midst of yet another successful conference campaign as they just nailed their seventh straight ACC victory on Tuesday. Being ranked the No. 3 program in the nation, they annihilated the Miami Hurricanes, 89-54, and are now holding a 15-2 overall record in the 2024-2025 season.

Freshman Kon Knueppel led all scorers as he posted his career high in points with 25 points on an uber-efficient 9-for-11 from the field, good for 81.8% overall, including a 6-of-8 tally from the 3-point arc (75%) in 26 minutes of action. The first-year sharpshooter also contributed two rebounds, three assists and a steal in the fixture.

During the postgame celebrations in the locker room, fellow rookie standout Isaiah Evans, who is often nicknamed "Slim", was posted by the Blue Devils' social media team conducting interviews with his teammates. When it came to Knueppel, he had nothing but praise for him:

"Can we talk about 9-for-11 (overall), 6-for-8 from 3? That's just elite. Elite. Elite efficiency, my brother. Just keep it up," Evans said.

Pointing out Knueppel's rebound totals, however, the Huntersville, North Carolina native then jokingly said:

"We got two boards, but it doesn't matter. When you shooting like that, you don't need to rebound."

For his side, Evans dropped eight points on 3-of-8 shooting along with two rebounds in 15 minutes off the bench. His contributions, alongside that of Knueppel's, propelled the Jon Scheyer-coached squad to their 11th straight triumph dating back to early November of 2024.

With the team seemingly on a roll, given the productions their key players have been letting out, the Duke Blue Devils will look to keep that momentum up when they travel to the Boston College Eagles' home arena on Jan. 18, looking for win No. 16.

Sharpshooting chemistry between Kon Knueppel and Isaiah Evans unmatched

Before Isaiah Evans praised Kon Knueppel for his highly efficient offensive night on Tuesday, the former asked the latter where his motivation to dominate like he did comes from — to which the 6-foot-7 guard said in response:

"I'm just trying to get a page out of your book and just make every 3."

Evans then re-asserted the same sentiment:

"Absolutely not, bro. I'm taking a page out of your book."

For their first years of college basketball, both Knueppel and Evans have shown time and time again that they are among the best shooters in the nation.

Knueppel has showcased his reliable scoring ability with a 12.7 ppg average while Evans notably exploded for 18 points in just 16 minutes off the bench, all of which came from 3-pointers, in an 84-78 victory against Auburn last month.
