
Zeke Mayo is an American point guard who has entered his senior year with the Kansas Jayhawks in the 2024/25 season. He started his high school career at Lawrence High School, where he was honoured with the 2021 DiRenna Award during his senior campaign. As a senior, Mayo averaged 21.2 points and 6.8 rebounds and was named Sunflower League Player of the Year. Mayo received offers from Jacksonville, North Alabama, Northern Kentucky, and Tulsa but he embarked on his collegiate journey with South Dakota in 2021 according to 247Sports. As a freshman, Mayo averaged 9.6 points and 2.9 rebounds and earned his spot in the 2022 Summit League All-Newcomer Squad, according to the Jayhawks website.
In 2022 as a sophomore, Mayo saw action in all 32 games and posted 18.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists. Mayo also earned a spot in the First-team All-Summit League Mayo. As a junior, Mayo enjoyed his best campaign when he posted 18.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists and was named the 2024 Summit League Player of the Year. He became the seventh all-time scorer in SDSU’s history with 1,576 points. However, after three seasons with the Jackrabbits, Mayo decided to transfer to the Kansas Jayhawks for his final year of eligibility. As a senior in 2024, Mayo has averaged 14.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists per contest in 28 games as of February 2025 (via ESPN).
