The summer blockbuster College Football 25 is revitalizing the football video game world. While the game has come up with some great new plays, some of them are quite unique and favorites among EA players and Madden gamers. For a quick overview, here are 10 of the best offensive plays to run in College Football 25.
10 best plays in EA Sports College Football 25
1.PA Read
A classic from the old days of EA gaming, PA read is, as the name would suggest, a play-action fake with the quarterback then reading the defense.
Two outside receivers run deeper routes, while the tight end and slot receiver both go across the middle. Lastly, the back fills the area they both just vacated. The QB can also scramble easily from this set. It's a good one.
2. Jet Sweep
This play can be run from a variety of formations, but it works best with a multi-receiver look.
The jet sweep is simply an outside receiver (usually designed as the left side receiver) going in motion, taking a handoff from the quarterback and sweeping in the direction of his motion. It'll keep defenses honest on the run.
3. Bubble Screen
Another essential College Football 25 ingredient against aggressive players, bubble screen also works best with a convoy of receivers.
One receiver from the outside breaks inside the other receivers to catch a short screen pass. If the pass is completed and the receiver gets a couple of blocks, it can pop into a big gain.
4. Double Slants
On the other hand, every playbook needs a throw into the middle of the field. It's dangerous, so use it with care, but this one sends receivers diving hard into the middle of the field.
The other tweak is that a receiver or two—the tight end or, if available, the running back—will sneak outside on this play, which is also something to notice because they're a safer target.
5. Exit RPO Read Y Flat
This one is a favorite and it'll take some time to learn, but it's worth knowing. It's an RPO play that presents the QB with a couple of attractive pass targets.
There's a receiver over the middle, a deeper crossing route on the outside of the formation, and a tight end sneaking outside. That's if the QB doesn't hand it off or just run with the ball. There are so many possibilities here.
6. Quick Pitch
This one, from the singleback bunch ace formation, is instant explosive on teams that want to clog the middle of the field.
A group of outside receivers block down hard and the running back takes a pitch and heads for the sideline. It's not a bread-and-butter play, but like the slant, it certainly has its time and place.
7. Four Verticals Option
This one, run from Gun Doubles Offset Weak, will send two receivers deep on the left side and a tight end and a receiver deep on the right side. Likely to succeed? Not at all. But is it fun when it does? You bet.
8. Jet Reverse Pass
A wildcat formation play, this one is great to call after lulling opponents to sleep with some power inside runs.
The receiver simulated a jet sweep but can pull up and pop a pass downfield to a tight end or to his receiver, who has run a deep route to the middle. Either way, there's some real juice here.
9. HB Slam
Another oldie but a goodie. it's a simple power-running play designed to go off the left guard. If the offensive line locks up, it can turn into a power sweep.
If not, the back can crash into the middle and try to pick up a few yards. Other running plays are flashier, but HB Slam has gained many, many College Football 25 yards for those wise to it.
10. Fake Punt FB Flat
It's a fake punt intended to become a short pass in the flat to a fullback. Don't call these on 4th and 25 or anything, but on a 4th and 4, it can be a ticket to keeping drives alive and leaving College Football 25 opponents frustrated.
