The 2025 NFL draft is going to be here before we know it and there are going to be a lot of players hearing their names as they begin their professional careers. There are a handful of quarterbacks that could be going within the first round of the draft as they certainly have the talent to do so.

Let's take a look at the five college football quarterbacks that have the best chance to be selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft.

Top 5 QBs with the best chance to be 2025 first-round selections

5. Carson Beck, Georgia

Georgia Bulldogs Carson Beck is entering the NFL draft process compromised with a UCL injury that needed surgery to repair. Beck finished the season completing 290 of his 448 (64.7%) passes for 3,485 yards with 28 passing touchdowns to 12 interceptions.

Beck is one of the top quarterback prospects and the injury could affect what teams think about him, but he is a big-game quarterback. Expect a team to draft him as a quarterback to learn behind a veteran, similar to what Michael Penix Jr did this season.

4. Quinn Ewers, Texas

Quinn Ewers is the only quarterback on this list who has not officially declared for the 2025 NFL draft, but if he does, should be a first-round pick. The Texas QB has performed well this season; heading into the Cotton Bowl, he has completed 270 of 406 (66.5%) passes for 3,189 yards with 29 passing touchdowns to 10 interceptions.

He has shown the ability to win College Football Playoff games and step up with a lot of pressure on him amid calls for his high-profile backup, Arch Manning, to take over. Ewers also has a lot of the traditional traits of an elite pocket passer and should be selected very early in the NFL draft.

3. Jalen Milroe, Alabama

Jalen Milroe is going to be one of the more polarizing quarterbacks in the NFL draft, but if Anthony Richardson was drafted in the first round off of pure potential then why not a more talented Milroe? This season, he completed 205 of 319 (64.3%) passes for 2,844 yards with 16 passing touchdowns to 11 interceptions while running 168 times for 726 yards (4.3 yards per carry) and 20 rushing touchdowns.

He should be selected in the middle to second half of the first round with his elite talent. Milroe is far from the perfect talent but there are enough quarterback-hungry teams in the NFL that they are going to jump at his upside.

2. Shedeur Sanders, Colorado

There is a lot of media pressure for this to be a fact and do not let the recent reports dissuade you from believing in Shedeur Sanders as a first-round selection. He has been rumored to be linked to the New York Giants, who hold the fourth pick in the draft and have a glaring need for a quarterback.

Shedeur Sanders was able to complete 353 of 477 (74.0%) passes for 4,134 yards with 37 passing touchdowns to 10 interceptions this year. With his ability to be deadly accurate with the ball, if he can work on getting the ball out quicker he will be a great quarterback going forward.

1. Cam Ward, Miami

Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward is one of the few players who seemingly are in the conversation for the top pick in the draft, so he should be a lock for the first round. Ward had an excellent season as he led the sport with an 88.7 QBR while also completing 305-of-454 (67.2%) of his passes for 4,313 yards with 39 passing touchdowns to seven interceptions.

Ward does not put the ball in harm's way and arguably has the strongest arm of any quarterback in the draft class. He is a lock for the first round and could be the first one off the board.
