The 2024 College Football season has been one of the most hectic in recent memory, with numerous historic upsets. Unfortunately, for some teams, their start to the season hasn't been as ideal, while a few are still searching for their identity entering Week 8.

With teams looking to improve, one of the first people who are looked to when things go wrong is the coach. If a team isn't performing to their standards, the coach is likely to be fired.

As some coaches begin to feel the pressure of the hot seat with the season halfway over, here are three of them likely to get fired after lackluster Week 7 performances.

Three College Football coaches likely to get fired after Week 7

Dave Aranda, Baylor

Through six games this season, one of the most disappointing teams in the Big 12 Conference has been the Baylor Bears. With a 2-4 record, Baylor is coming off an embarrasing 43-21 loss to Iowa State last time out.

The Bears are coming off a 3-9 campaign last year, but things only look worse in 2024. If Baylor is unable to turn things around, Aranda will likely be out as their coach.

Billy Napier, Florida

After winning back-to-back games, things appeared to be looking up for the Florida Gators and coach Billy Napier. He and the Gators went on the road in Week 6, looking to upset the Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville, but Florida lost 23-17, dropping to 3-3 on the season.

As the season progresses, Napier continues to play both Graham Mertz and DJ Lagway, opposed to sticking with a consistent starter in either the talented freshman or the veteran senior.

Napier and the Gators are likely to miss out on a bowl game for the second-straight season, as they face four straight Top 25 opponents following their Week 8 matchup versus Kentucky. It will be difficult to justify keeping Napier if he produces yet another disappointing season.

Ryan Day, Ohio State

This selection is due to recency bias but still holds truth. Ryan Day lost yet another game to a top-five team, as the Ohio State Buckeyes suffered their first loss of the season to the Oregon Ducks.

What sticks out from the loss is Ryan Day's poor clock management at the end of the game, with time running out on the Buckeyes despite a timeout remaining. Day is now 2-5 against top-five teams, and the Buckeyes' playoff future now looks uncertain.
