3 teams Arch Manning could join if he leaves Texas Longhorns after 2024 season

Could Arch Manning leave the Texas Longhorns?

Arch Manning joined the Texas Longhorns as one of the most coveted prospects in college football history. The five-star prospect was the top-ranked overall recruit in the 2023 recruiting class and is one of just three quarterbacks in 247 Sports history to earn a perfect 100 rating.

In most cases, such a highly regarded quarterback prospect would be the starter no later than in his second season. Manning's situation, though, is much different. Quinn Ewers - the top-ranked overall recruit in the 2021 recruiting class, who also received a perfect 100 rating from 247 Sports - is slated to return as the Longhorns' starter in 2024.

While he hasn't given any indication that he could begin to look to leave Texas, things could change after another season riding the bench. Furthermore, there will be several big-time programs that could be in the quarterback market following the season.

Take a look at three teams the latest Manning quarterback prospect could join if he leaves the Longhorns:

Three teams Arch Manning could join if he leaves Texas Longhorns after 2024 season

#1 Alabama Crimson Tide

The Alabama Crimson Tide were heavily involved in the recruitment of Arch Manning, as they were one of three schools to have an official visit with the former five-star prospect.

While the program will undoubtably look different in 2024 following the retirement of long-time coach Nick Saban, they are expected to remain among the top contenders in the nation.

Joining the Crimson Tide could give him an opportunity to play for, arguably, the most prestigious program in college football. Additionally, Jalen Milroe is expected to make the jump to the NFL following the season.

#2 Georgia Bulldogs

The Georgia Bulldogs were the third team to hold an official visit with Arch Manning.

They have been among the best programs in college football since Kirby Smart took over and would allow the former five-star prospect to play on a dominant roster. Furthermore, Carson Beck is in his fifth and final season of eligibility, meaning the Bulldogs could be in the market for a replacement.

#3 LSU Tigers

The LSU Tigers didn't receive an official visit with Arch Manning, as the program was going through a transition at coach at the time of his recruitment.

He took his official visits ahead of the 2022 season, which marked Brian Kelly's first year on the job. While LSU was coming off a 6-7 season, they have put together back-to-back 10-win seasons under Kelly.

Garrett Nussmeier is expected to start for the Tigers in 2024, but the four-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class is somewhat of a question mark. If he doesn't perform well in a starting role, it won't be a surprise to see LSU pull out all the stops to bring the Louisiana native back to his home state.
