For players of EA Sports College Football 25, the new quarterback abilities are a fun way to improve a brilliant game. Leveling up these player-specific skills by tiers of bronze, silver, gold and platinum is a significant part of the video game. But equally important is understanding them.
Here are five of the best abilities for quarterbacks to possess and utilize in College Football 25.
5 best abilities for QBs in College Football 25
#1. Extender
Given the amount of pass rush heat quarterbacks face, the Extender skill is a potential game-changer. Extender creates an improved ability to break sacks. There are few plays more soul-crushing in real football and CFB 25 than having a QB pinned for a big loss but instead giving up a big gain.
Extender is particularly useful for teams outside the scope of the usual powerhouses of the game. If the offensive line is less than ideal, then Extender can be a significant help.
#2. PA Shield
With the importance of keeping defenses guessing in College Football 25, the play-action passing game is key. PA Shield can provide a significant boost to that attack mode. The ability will provide better blocking on play-action plays called on first down or with less than three yards to gain. Armed with a PA Shield, a healthy dose of play-action passes can be fatal to opposing defenses.
#3. Off Platform
This ability is a particularly useful one. Because all plays don't work as well in action as on the play-calling screen, if your passer is stuck firing a pass across his body or on his back foot, Off Platform will help. The ability boosts the accuracy of throws that might otherwise be dangerous. The Brett Favres of College Football 25 world will love this ability.
#4. Headstrong
CFB 25 can sometimes just be intrinsically challenging. For instance, road games at tough stadiums can disrupt any offense. That's where Headstrong comes in. With the Headstrong ability, a quarterback will call better hot routes and also get some protection from the Stadium Pulse impact. It's not an ability that will help in every game, but when it does, players will be glad they've got it.
#5. Dot!
While many of the abilities highlighted help improve QBs on the move, sometimes things do work out. When a QB has a clean pocket, drops back and throws to an open target, the Dot! ability will be helpful. It helps passing accuracy in those circumstances when everything is going well. The Dot! ability can be a backbreaker for defenses.
