#5 Texas Shotgun Split Z Plus – "MTN Alert Swing Buck"

The formation that includes this play is exclusive to the Texas Longhorns playbook but is one of the most unique but simple plays to run.

Multiple unique plays can be run from this formation, which features a lot of motion from one of two running backs on the field. The formation places two running backs in the backfield alongside a single receiver.

In this specific play, one running back motions out as the lead blocker if you choose to swing the ball to your receiver out of the backfield. The other option outside of the swing pass is to hand the ball off to the remaining tailback while the guard pulls to clear a running lane.

#4 Arizona Shotgun Trey Open HB Str – “DIY Direct Snap Reverse”

This reverse play begins with a direct snap to the running back as a receiver comes across and allows for the option to hand it off. Pressing L1 on PlayStation or LB on Xbox will allow you to hand it off to the receiver coming across, or you can choose to hold onto the ball with the running back.

This wrinkle will allow you to run this play multiple times with different options and can net you some big yardage.

#3 Auburn Shotgun Y Trips Offset Wk – “Reverse Flea Flicker”

This reverse flea flicker play begins with the quarterback handing the ball off to the running back, who then hands it to the receiver coming across the field. From that point, you can look for an open receiver down the field to throw to.

It's a simple play but can be risky if the receiver who ends up throwing the ball doesn't have the accuracy rating to find the intended target.

There are multiple effective trick plays you can run from this formation, which is included in the Auburn, Arizona, New Mexico, Washington and multiple alternate playbooks in College Football 25.

#2 Oregon Shotgun Trips – “Double Pass Rail”

This trick play in College Football 25 begins with the quarterback passing to the receiver in the slot, who then has two options. The receiver can either take the ball up the field if they have space to run or throw the ball to the running back.

The running back will be on a wheel route that often tends to be wide open if the defense is in zone coverage and can't keep up. This is the perfect play to throw into the mix occasionally, especially since the formation of this play is found in multiple team playbooks.

#1 Wildcat Unbalanced – “Jet Reverse Pass”

The "jet reverse pass" play in College Football 25 begins with the quarterback lined up out wide. This is typical of the wildcat formation, which is included in many playbooks in the game.

Once the snap is taken, the ball is thrown to the quarterback, who has multiple options to throw down the field. This play could offer you a huge spark on offense as the wheel route and post route allow receivers the chance to get open deep.

Since the quarterback will ultimately be the player who ends up throwing the football, you won't have to worry about the accuracy of the pass compared to a pass by a receiver or running back.
