The Alabama Crimson Tide saw Nick Saban retire after the Rose Bowl lost. Although the school quickly hired Kalen DeBoer as their new head coach, several top recruits decommitted from the Crimson Tide.

In the class of 2025, Alabama has already seen eight players announce their decommitment, including one five-star recruit.

#1. Jaime Ffrench, WR

Jaime Ffrench is a five-star recruit in the class of 2025 and the fourth-ranked wide receiver, but he decommitted from Alabama.

Ffrench has yet to announce his new commitment but is expected to land at Ohio State.

In 2023, he recorded 62 receptions for 1,247 yards and 14 touchdowns.

#2. Javion Hilson, EDGE

Javion Hilson is a four-star recruit in the class of 2025, but he decomitted from Alabama in January after Saban retired.

Hilson is the 40th-ranked player in the nation and the third-ranked edge rusher in the class of 2025. In 2023, he recorded 97 tackles, 44 quarterback hits, 14 sacks, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

Hilson has committed to FSU.

#3. Zion Grady, EDGE

Zion Grady announced his decommitment from Alabama on January 17 after Nick Saban retired.

Grady is a four-star recruit in the class of 2025 and is the 75th-ranked prospect in the class. He's also ranked as the 10th-best edge rusher in the class of 2025.

In 2023, Grady recorded 87 tackles, 22 quarterback hits, 11 sacks and an interception.

#4. Myles Johnson, ATH

Four-star athlete Myles Johnson announced his decommitment from Alabama on July 3. He was the No. 22 prospect in Alabama and the No. 51 linebacker in the 2025 class

Johnson is expected to commit to Florida, according to 247Sports.

#5. Mason Short, OT

Mason Short decommitted from Alabama on January 16 after Nick Saban retired.

Short is a four-star offensive tackle who is ranked as the 18th-best offensive tackle, according to 247Sports.

The offensive tackle is projected to commit to Georgia, as he is from the state.
