Home winning streaks stem from home-field advantage being a massive part of college football. Every team has a loud stadium, mostly filled with its loyal fans, screaming and willing their team to success. But some are a little louder, a little bigger and maybe just flat-out more successful.

Here are the five teams with the longest active home-winning streaks in college football.

#5. Florida State (9 games)

FSU is a traditional power that has slumped some in recent seasons. But Doak Campbell Stadium is a ferocious place for visitors to introduce. The Seminoles had a perfect 2023 season at home, en route to one of college football's longest active home-winning streaks.

The last home loss for FSU was Oct. 15, 2022, against then No. 4 Clemson. That said, nine is just a starting place for FSU. During the Bobby Bowden era, the Seminoles won 37 straight home games.

#4. LSU (10 games)

The LSU Tigers are often a fearsome foe for road teams, particularly in night games at the eternally electric Tiger Stadium. One of the sport's largest and loudest venues, Tigers fans are notorious tough hosts for visiting squads. LSU had a perfect 2023 home season.

LSU's last home loss was Oct. 8, 2022, against then No. 8 Tennessee. They'll need a couple more perfect seasons to set a school record, though. LSU won 22 in a row at home between 2009 and 2012.

#3. Washington (14 games)

It's not quite the glamorous venue as other stadiums on the list, but Husky Stadium is a tough place to play. Washington has now put together back-to-back perfect seasons at home in 2022 and 2023. The Huskies have certainly elevated the status of their program, and their home-field advantage is a part of that rise.

Washington's last home loss came on Nov. 26, 2021, in the Apple Cup battle with Washington State. But Washington's historic streak is still several years off. The Huskies won a whopping 40 straight home games between 1908 and 1914.

#2. Michigan (22 games)

They're the defending champions and they play in the largest stadium in the nation. Suffice it to say that Michigan has home-field advantage and then some. For three consecutive seasons, the Wolverines have swept through their home schedule.

The last Michigan home loss was in an essentially empty Michigan Stadium during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season. On Nov. 28, 2020, Penn State bested Michigan in Ann Arbor. It's still a long way to a UM record. Michigan won 50 home games in a row between 1901 and 1907.

#1. Georgia (25 games)

Georgia has the nation's longest active home winning streak with 25 in a row. The last UGA home loss was in the previous decade. On Oct. 12, 2019, South Carolina bested Georgia in Athens. But over the last four seasons, UGA has been perfect at home.

The good news for Georgia is that its current run has already re-written the school record book for the longest home-winning streak. Maybe the Bulldogs can gun for Miami's FBS record 58-game home winning streak?

Which of these streaks will end in 2024? Weigh in with your thoughts in the comments section below.
