#1 Learn the minigames

As in the college football games EA made more than a decade ago, the minigames are back. Depending on position type, players can improve speed, tackling ability and throwing accuracy. Mastering the minigames will provide a bigger boost to players than just being merely OK.

Again, your minigame selection will depend on position. Quarterbacks only have a few games which can involve passing abilities. Running backs and wide receivers can play more games, including those involving returning kicks and punts. But mastering a minigame can make a good player into a great player.

#2 For mind readers, recruit the right player

No, that's not sarcastic. One of the archetype builds for coaches in CF25 is the strategist.

If the strategist has the mind reader's ability, that coach can see the development traits of recruits when they make official visits to your school. Elite development is the top ability, and those players are almost guaranteed to make impressive progress throughout their College Football 25 careers.

#3 Give them good coaching

Needless to say, the caliber of coach matters. For those using the head coaching role, players can choose offensive and defense coordinators.

The choice of those coaches will help players flourish, so coaches should be careful to choose guys who fit their system and needs most directly. The right coordinator can make a good player into a great player.

#4 Upgrade those coaches

There's relatively little control over individual player development, but the best way to fix them is by upgrading their coaches.

Using the coaching tree to upgrade coaches will show dividends in improving your players. It's not the most glamorous way to improve, but it will help guys develop.

#5 Avoid too much wear and tear

OK, this isn't technically a way to improve players, but it's a way to avoid seeing them decline in ability. The wear and tear feature will cause a decline in ability for players who are overused and/or beaten up in games.

So make sure to keep your players on the sideline now and again and don't wear them down in blowouts. It won't make them better, but it'll keep them at peak effectiveness.
