Born on January 2, 2004, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Abdul Carter attended La Salle College High School in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania. He committed to Penn State over offers from South Carolina and Ole Miss. Carter joined Penn State in June 2022 and quickly made an impact, earning second-team All-Big Ten honors as a freshman.
