Early Signing Day remains one of the biggest days of the college football year not only in the ACC, but the entire nation. Within the ACC, even as the league fights for its College Football Playoff fate, the fate of seasons ahead is being defined. On Early Signing Day, the top future recruiting classes come into view. Here's a rundown on the rankings (via 247sports.com) and a closer look at top classes.
ACC 2025 football Early Signing Day Rankings
In 247sports national rankings, just three ACC teams reached the top 25. Miami came in at 14th, Georgia Tech finished 18th and Florida State is 25th. Here's a deeper dive on those programs and their Early Signing Day work.
Miami national recruiting
Mario Cristobal's team might be fading from College Football Playoff contention, but the recruiting rankings confirm that the Hurricanes are back. Safely the top recruiting power in the ACC, Miami added plenty of talent in its initial haul. Of the Hurricanes' 21 commitments, 11 were ranked as four-star recruits by 247sports.
The most notable name of the bunch is edge rusher Hayden Lowe. A 6-foot-4, 242 pound standout from California, Lowe was ranked as the No. 3 edge rusher in the nation in his class (and the No. 44 player overall). Miami flipped Lowe's commitment from USC last month and he's already signed with the Hurricanes.
A second top 100 recruit was interior offensive lineman Seuseu Alofaituli, a 6-foot-3, 280 pound powerhouse from Nevada. Aside from those two, Miami added a number of highly regarded skill position players, including four-star running back Girard Pringle Jr., wide receiver Joshua Moore and safety Bryce Fitzgerald, all three within the national top 250.
Georgia Tech national recruiting
Tech was somewhat surprising in the national recruiting rankings. A 7-5 team that has shown potential, Tech used its solid season as a basis on which to add six four-star plus players. Interestingly, all six hail from Georgia. This suggests that Tech is hitting its stride cleaning up on in-state prospects overlooked by nation-minded Georgia.
Tackle Josh Petty is one of only two five-star players signed by ACC teams (Clemson nabbed the other). The No. 21 national player in the class, the 6-foot-5, 265 pound athlete should be a foundation for future Georgia Tech line excellence. Petty committed to Tech back in August and the Yellowjackets picked up a future star.
The other two top-100 players in Tech's recruiting class are both cornerbacks. Tae Harris was ranked 56th nationally and Dalen Penson was ranked 77th. Both are elite-level athletes. Tech flipped Harris from Clemson in the last two weeks, while Penson had committed early and visited USC late, but elected to stick with Tech.
Florida State national recruiting
With four four-star players, Florida State demonstrated that even a horrid 2-10 season on the field didn't totally destroy their recruiting momentum. FSU focused its efforts heavily on Florida and Georgia, nabbing 12 of their 18 recruits from those two states.
The big name for FSU is probably the biggest player in their class, 320-pound defensive lineman Kevin Wynn from Georgia. Ranked 59th in the nation, Wynn is the only top 100 recruit on FSU's roster of new additions. Wynn was a June commit to FSU and the Seminoles held off South Carolina late to sign the massive interior line prospect.
FSU added a trio of other top 250 players in running back Ousmane Kromah, cornerback Gregory Xavier Thomas and offensive lineman Mario Nash Jr. Kromah was a list minute flip from Georgia, which speaks positively of his potential. Nash decommitted from Mississippi State in October to jump to the Seminoles. FSU was active late in the recruiting process and fared well.
