The 2024 ACC Media Days will be the first of its kind in the history of the conference. It will be the first featuring 18 institutions, following the addition of three new schools last summer.
The event is also set to take over four days for the first time in history, being held from Jul. 22 to 25. It is scheduled to be held at the Hilton Charlotte Uptown in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Some of the top players speaking at the event are quarterbacks. With some transfer portal moves, the conference now boasts some of the best players in the position ahead of the 2024 college football season. Here's a look at the quarterbacks to watch in the ACC Media Days.
Five quarterbacks to watch at the 2024 ACC Media Days
#1 Kyle McCord, Syracuse
Kyle McCord led Ohio State's offense last season and did pretty well, throwing for 3,170 yards and 24 touchdowns. However, his game-ending interception against Michigan in the last game of the regular season placed him under fire.
After deciding to move away from Columbus and play close to home, McCord will be answering a lot of questions on how he hopes to continue his career at Syracuse.
#2 Cam Ward, Miami
Cam Ward has had two solid seasons as the starting quarterback of Washington State. He decided to move to Miami following uncertainties that clouded the future of the Cougars in college football after Pac-12’s implosion.
Ward appears to be the right quarterback for the Hurricanes while they seek redemption in the landscape. With 6,968 yards and 48 touchdowns in the last two seasons, he is undoubtedly one to watch out for.
#3 Cade Klubnik, Clemson
Cade Klubnik was quite impressive in what was a below-standard season for Clemson in 2023. However, more will be required of him in 2024 as the Tigers hope for redemption.
Klubnik threw for 2,844 yards and 19 touchdowns last season while also rushing for 182 yards and four touchdowns. The quarterback will have to answer a lot of questions on Clemson's expectations for him in 2024 at the ACC Media Days.
#4 Grayson McCall, NC State
Grayson McCall will be one of the most experienced quarterbacks in the ACC in the upcoming 2024 season. He's spent five seasons at Coastal Carolina, winning the Sun Belt Player of the Year three times.
Playing his final season in college football, McCall has all it takes to elevate NC State next season. He threw for an astonishing 10,005 yards and 88 touchdowns with the Chanticleers while rushing for 1,113 yards and 18 touchdowns.
#5 Maalik Murphy, Duke
After two seasons as a backup option at Texas, Maalik Murphy will continue his career at Duke in 2024. The quarterback showed a glimpse of what he could do with 477 passing yards and three touchdowns in seven appearances last season.
Murphy is expected to become the Blue Devils' starting quarterback next season, replacing the departed Riley Leonard. His expectations for the season will be in question at the ACC Media Days.
