Alabama vs Mercer prediction & betting tips - Nov. 16 | College Football Week 12

The No. 9-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide are hosting the Mercer Bears on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET. The game can be seen on ESPN+.

Both teams were successful last Saturday as Alabama (7-2, 4-2 Southeastern Conference) defeated then-No. 14-ranked LSU 42-13, while Mercer (9-1, 6-1 Southern Conference) won 34-0 over VMI.

Alabama is a massive 41.5-point home favorite. The over/under is set at 56.5 points.

The Crimson Tide are coming off a statement win over LSU to keep their playoff hopes alive.

"I really don't feel like we've ever been overconfident or complacent in any way," Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer said on Saturday, via Tuscaloosa News. "We haven't done enough here since we've been here to get to that point. We got to reload it all and do it all over again."

DeBoer was pleased with his team's performance, especially after two losses earlier in the season.

"They just stayed the course, kept buckling down, kept getting better and better," DeBoer said. "Going back to the bye week, kept getting better and better. On Sunday, you know, Tuesday, Wednesday, you could just keep seeing the momentum building. I liked what I saw."

Alabama is led by Jalen Milroe who has thrown for 2,046 yards, 13 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He is also the team's leading rusher with 565 yards and 16 TDs. Ryan Williams leads the team with 731 receiving yards and seven TDs.

Defensively, the Crimson Tide are led by Keon Sabb, Domani Jackson, Bray Hubbard and Malachi Moore's two interceptions, while Que Robinson and Jihaad Campbell have four sacks.

Meanwhile, Mercer is on a three-game winning streak and its only loss of the season was against Samford. The Bears are massive underdogs but Crimson Tide defensive coordinator Kane Wommack isn't overlooking them.

"When you look at Mercer, really like what they do on offense," Wommack said on Monday, via SportingNews. "Impressed with a lot of the concepts they run. They’re very dynamic. They have a lot of volume.

"Actually, probably similar to what we’ve seen the last couple of weeks. They play two quarterbacks, and both of them can hurt you in the run game. They’ll take off and scramble. They’ve got a little bit of a one-plus style in some of the things they’re asking those guys to do."

Mercer is led by D.J. Smith who has thrown for 1,271 yards, nine TDs and six interceptions. Dwayne Mcgee has rushed for 910 yards and seven TDs and Kelin Parsons has caught 31 passes for 549 yards and four TDs.

Alabama is expected to cruise to a lopsided win and will likely rest some starters in the second half.
