Alabama vs Missouri: Preview
Alabama is a 13.5-point favorite, while the over/under is 55.5 points.
The Crimson Tide are coming off a disappointing loss on the road to Tennessee. Alabama's offense struggled in that game. The Crimson Tide have lost two games this season, and coach Kalen DeBoer knows Alabama has to win out to make the playoffs.
“They understand the big picture is one thing,” DeBoer said, via Tuscaloosa News. “In order to make the big picture relevant, we have to take care of what’s in front of us.”
Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack says the focus has already turned to Missouri.
“I talked to the players yesterday, all that should be on our minds is what do we have to do to beat Missouri on Saturday?” Wommack said. “And anything outside of that is a distraction and does not keep focus on the main thing.”
The Crimson Tide have been led by Jalen Milroe, who has thrown for 1,722 yards, 13 touchdowns and six interceptions, and Ryan Wiliams, who has 649 receiving yards and seven TDs.
Alabama's defense is led by Que Robinson, who has four sacks, and Deonte Lawson, who leads the way with 61 tackles.
Missouri, meanwhile, despite being 6-1 hasn't lived up to the hype. The Tigers were blown out by Texas A&M in its only real tough test this season.
The Tigers are coming off a close win over Auburn.
“Yeah, I’m not gonna lie, when it was 17-14 I thought it was a bad dream because that was the same score as last time. For us to find a way to go back and finish the game, pretty special," coach Eli Drinkwintz said, via SI.
Missouri is led by Brady Cook, who has thrown for 1,545 yards, seven TDs and one interception. Nate Noel has rushed for 503 yards and two TDs.
On defense, Missouri is led by Chris McLellan who has 2.5 sacks, while Corey Flagg Jr. leads the way with 38 tackles.
Alabama should be motivated after a heartbreaking rivalry loss to Tennessee. The Crimson Tide will likely need to run the table to have any chance at making the College Football Playoff.
Missouri's offense should struggle here as Alabama's defense is legit. The Crimson Tide should get a double-digit win.
Prediction: Alabama 35, Missouri 21
