The injury report will be a factor when the Alabama vs. Vanderbilt matchup takes place on Saturday at 4:15 p.m. ET. The No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide (4-0) will travel to the home of the Vanderbilt Commodores (2-2).
Undefeated so far this season, Alabama is coming off a big 41-34 win over the then No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs. Vanderbilt is in the midst of a tough stretch in its schedule. It had an open week last week but previously suffered a 30-27 loss to No. 9 Missouri.
Alabama injury report week 6
Alabama does not have a huge number of injuries. However, the injuries it does have are two regular contributors in the lineup.
Kendrick Law
Wide receiver Kendrick Law was injured in last week's win over Georgia. Early in the second quarter, he limped off the field after being hit on a scramble play. Coach Kalen DeBoer said it's a lower-body injury and he is day to day. He commented on Law and said:
"I don't know what he'll be, but it's unfortunate because I thought he really had a great week or two of practice and kept building too, a lot. he was really juiced up before the game." [via SI].
DeVonta Smith
DeVonta Smith received medical attention two times in last week's game against Georgia as he dealt with cramps. He was initially pulled to the medical tent in the third quarter but returned to the game.
However, he was helped off the field in the final two minutes. DeBoer told reporters that he has been practicing all week and will likely play against Vanderbilt.
Vanderbilt injury report week 6
Vanderbilt is coming off an open week and appears mostly healthy. However, there are a few players on the injury report.
Cole Spence
Starting tight end Cole Spence has been dealing with a lingering hamstring injury but was able to play 25 snaps in Vanderbilt's last game. He is expected to play against Alabama.
Khordae Sydnor
Starting defensive lineman Khordae Sydnor sprained his left ankle in Week 1 against Virginia Tech. He returned for Vanderbilt's last game against Missouri but only played 18 snaps. He is listed as probable on the injury report for this game and is expected to take on a much longer role.
Zaylin Wood
Defensive lineman Zaylin Wood suffered an ankle injury in week 1 against Virginia Tech and has not yet returned to the lineup. His recovery has been slower than expected, and he will be out again against Alabama.
