Alex Tecza is an American college football starting fullback playing for the Navy Midshipmen. A Pittsburgh native and Mt. Lebanon High School graduate, Tecza has played in 12 career games, starting eight as a sophomore in 2023.
Last season, he earned Honorable Mention All-AAC honors, leading Navy in rushing, averaging 63.2 yards per game and 6.0 yards per carry, ranking 22nd nationally. Tecza’s breakout performances included a 163-yard game against Memphis, featuring a 75-yard touchdown run. He also scored a two-touchdown, 137-yard effort against North Texas.

Alex Tecza is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and is a 2022 graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School. Growing up in this vibrant suburb, Tecza developed his love for sports at a young age. His parents Dana and Randall Tecza both were athletes in their time. His father, who played football at Allegheny College and Lock Haven, introduced Alex to the flag football league before moving him to tackle football. Like his father, Dana Tecza, Alex's mother, excelled in equestrian, swimming, and cheerleading during her youth at State College, as per the Almanac.
At Mt. Lebanon High School, Tecza was a standout student-athlete, excelling in football and lacrosse. He maintained a 4.3 GPA and was a member of the National Honor Society.
In his senior year, Tecza led the Blue Devils football team to its first Pennsylvania 6A State Championship in school history, achieving a perfect 15-0 record, as per Navy Sports. He played as a running back, quarterback, and wide receiver while also contributing to the team as a strong safety. He earned numerous awards, including the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) Player of the Year.
