ESPN will cover Southeastern Conference football in the 2024 college football season. The network sealed a 10-year, $3 billion television deal with the conference in 2020, per the New York Times, effective from 2024.
With the 2024 college football season nearing, fans want to know whether some SEC games will feature on ABC, ESPN’s sister network, during the media deal.
Are SEC college football games on ABC?
The new television deal between ESPN and SEC will see ABC air some notable games. This was made known by ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro when the deal was announced in 2020.
"With all the conference's games under the ESPN umbrella and adding ABC and ESPN+ to our distribution channels, ESPN will have complete scheduling flexibility, resulting in maximum exposure and adding significant benefits for SEC schools and fans," Pitaro told The Associated Press.
"So Saturday night, prime time on ABC is the highest profile window, the biggest stage in terms of college football. And we love the fact that we can now bring the ABC platform into the mix, starting in 2024."
The conference's premier games were aired on CBS for almost three decades. However, because of the conference’s new television agreement with ESPN, the biggest games of the week will be broadcast on ABC.
