The Arizona Wildcats have been busy in the transfer portal this offseason. First-year coach Brent Brennan posted just a 4-8 mark and has seen more than 30 players enter the portal. Brennan has added around two dozen new faces and it has been a chaotic time for the Wildcats, to say the least.
Brennan was hired after former Arizona coach Jedd Fisch replaced Kalen DeBoer at Washington, who then went to Alabama to replace Nick Saban.
Here are the three most significant Wildcat losses via the transfer portal after the tough season.
Arizona Transfer Portal Losses: Top 3 former Wildcats who entered portal in winter window
3. Keyan Burnett, TE
A four-star prospect from California, Burnett showed signs of taking off in the 2024 season. After catching just six passes combined in 2022 and 2023, Burnett snagged 18 passes for 217 yards and a touchdown in 2024. If not for injuries short-circuiting his season in early November, Burnett would have likely accrued even stronger numbers.
Burnett has just a single year of remaining eligibility and chose Kansas as his transfer destination. If he can continue his sudden improvement in 2025, he could be a significant weapon for the Jayhawks.
2. Emmanuel Karnley, CB
Karnley was a high three-star recruit out of California. After redshirting in 2023, he saw increasing playing time in 2024, starting in the latter half of the season. Karnley finished with 16 tackles and five pass break-ups. His strong production made him one of the most sought-after cornerbacks in the transfer portal, with a host of major programs re-recruiting Karnley.
He ultimately chose Miami, picking the Hurricanes over teams that included Ole Miss and Michigan. Karnley will have three seasons of eligibility to be utilized. Given Miami's excellence, playing time will be a challenge, but the 6-foot-3 corner may well be up to the task.
1. Tacario Davis, CB
A 6-foot-4 corner, Davis burst onto the scene in the 2023 and 2024 seasons. The California product was excellent as a sophomore in 2023, breaking up 16 passes for the Wildcats. His Arizona totals of 76 tackles and 22 pass break-ups demonstrate his impressive athleticism and ball skills.
Davis ultimately decided to use his one remaining season of eligibility to reunite with a familiar face. Davis followed his old coach, Jedd Fisch, to Washington. He was already an NFL draft prospect and could be a significant pickup for the Huskies.
